About the workshop

Rishikesh-Workshop

For the very first time in India, a different kind of Visual Experience where your mind , body and soul will come together..”Travel with Aman Chotani” and “Experiences” PRESENTS – Visual Literacy ( Story telling and Advance Photography Workshop ) by Aman Chotani and Yoga by Rashi Kalra in “Rishikesh”.

Hatha yoga is a traditional form of concentrating on the practice of postures (asanas). In our profession driven city lives, we all face problems like stress, indigestion, fatigue,  backaches, headaches etc. By simple practice of Yoga, you can be immune to the trouble, our city life invites and also reverse these and many more lifestyle related issues.

Visual Literacy (The art of understanding life through visuals) is the ability to interpret and make meaning from information presented in the form of an image. A Photographer communicates or tells a story through a photograph. How a picture can become more beautiful with just keeping in mind a few theories of lines, patterns, texture etc. You don’t have to be a pro photographer or a DSLR owner for this workshop. A good mobile camera is also good enough. Know more about Aman.

Rashi Kalra (myself)

Having feet that starts to itch if they’re at one place for too long, I quit my advertising job in year 2012 and went backpacking to South India where amongst the local communities, I discovered my love for everything which originates from our culture. That includes classical music, yoga, scriptures, languages etc. I have always been keen to learn yoga but never thought I would want to teach it someday. Something unknown happened during the trip and I just decided to cut my trip short and head to Rishikesh.

My aim was to earn a teacher’s training certificate in traditional Hatha Yoga through the teachings of Sri Swami Sivananda. In January 2013, I came to Rishikesh as a student, practicing yoga seven hours a day with my teacher and fellow learners. By the end of my course, I started taking classes in Rishikesh itself. I am a YAI (Yoga Alliance International) certified yoga teacher since then and intend to learn more forms of this wonderful art that combines the mind, soul and body.

Now that I am working again in the city, yoga helps me stay connected with the nature and with my innerself. It keeps me fit inside and outside. It has helped me in a lot of health issues like Asthma, Backache, Fatigue, Sinus and Allergies. Also, it keeps my mind relaxed and now it’s almost impossible for me to feel stressed about anything.

These were my reasons to do yoga before, now I just do it because I love it.

So hop on and let’s learn and explore together…
